Bluefin’s exclusive Plum solution enables organizations to better coordinate their product development and information management functions.

Functionality Highlights:

PLUM

Concept and Line Planning

This allows users to create storyboards, essentially pin up pictures, in various formats like Adobe Illustrator and other such tools. Users may also choose colors from the color palette, pick trims and samples from the trim and sample database, and add comments. The purpose of this stage is to create narrative storyboards for the concepts determined to be of most interest to the organization.

Techpacks

The product’s various technical specifications are outlined in a selected template or copy of a previously created Techpack, then refined after consultations between designers, developers and the individual responsible for approval.

Sample Request for Quote (RFQ)

Techpacks and the bid spec are sent to the vendor(s) after the Techpack is approved.

Sample and Quote Management

Once the RFQ is approved, samples are requested from the vendor(s)/agent(s) to enable sourcing decisions.
Approval in one stage automatically moves the item to the next stage. Communication and progress are tracked by the system and can be viewed by the user at any time.

The second phase addresses the Product Information Management functionality. It enables organizations to manage updates to product information across various departments until that information is ready to be published and used by other production systems and processes. This phase is workflow based and can be configured per the requirements of each company. The departments and individuals that need to be updated for workflow approval are configurable, as is the information they have access to. You can choose from the Update versus View Only versions.
